Her overall victory at the 1962 Argentinian Touring Car Grand Prix in a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE (W 111) is the greatest motorsport success of Ewy Rosqvist – and a highlight in 125 years of motorsport at Mercedes-Benz. On 3 August 2019, the rally driver and brand ambassador of Mercedes-Benz Classic is celebrating her 90th birthday.
24 hours of fascinating motorsport: this is the legendary long distance race at Le Mans. Thirty years ago, Mercedes-Benz achieved a double victory in 1989 with the new Sauber-Mercedes C 9 Silver Arrows – just as they did in 1952 with the 300 SL racing sports car (W 194). A third Mercedes-Benz car finished in 5th place. This result makes the race a highlight of the anniversary year for “125 Years of Mercedes-Benz Motorsports”, which is being celebrated throughout 2019.
Fifty years of the C 111 brand legend, sports car stars and the future of the car from 1903 through to the new EQC
Highlights of the brand’s entire history will be presented by Mercedes-Benz Classic at the Techno Classica from 10 to 14 April 2019 in Essen: a total of six vehicles bring the history of the legendary C 111 research and record-breaking vehicles to life. The 40PS Mercedes-Simplex from 1903 and the EQC from 2019 (combined power consumption: 22.2kWh/100 km; combined CO2emissions: 0g/km, preliminary figures)* exude the spirit of innovation that has shaped automotive development at Mercedes-Benz right from the start. ALL TIME STARS, the Mercedes-Benz Classic car dealer,is bringing two special sports car stars to the 30th Techno Classica. Brand ambassador Jutta Benz will tell the story of her great-grandparents Carl & Bertha to children at the event. Along with brand clubs and ClassicPartners, Mercedes-Benz Classic will be exhibiting in Hall 1 at the Essen Exhibition Centre in a designated area of around 4,500 square metres.

This year Mercedes-Benz celebrates the anniversary “125 Years of Motorsport” – a perfect opportunity to transform a luxurious 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 S (W 108) into a furious rally racer, following the example set by the legendary racing car icon, the red Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG, which was successful in Spa-Francorchamps in 1971. The Mercedes-Benz E500high-performance saloon celebrates two special moments that took place 25years ago: in March 1994, a special model limited to 500 units is presented at the Geneva Motor Show. In October 1994, the Stuttgart-based brand hands over the ten thousandth E500built since its premiere in 1990 to a customer. And not just any customer ─ former Mercedes-Benz Formula1 racing driver Hans Herrmann! Double anniversary for young classic legend dating back 25 years
Half a century of exclusive sportiness in the upper mid-range series: in November 1968, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the 114 model series coupés. In addition to the 250 C with the then most powerful saloon engine, the 250 CE is also available, whose six-cylinder injection engine is reserved for the coupés. The two-door long-distance vehicles round off the top end of the « Stroke Eight » model range. Today, the coupés are among the sought-after classics on offer from ALL TIME STARS, the Mercedes-Benz Classic dealer. The premiere 50 years ago marked the starting point of the history of coupés in the upper mid-range series by Mercedes-Benz.
The Mercedes-Benz C 36 AMG was premiered at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main (IAA) from 9 to 19 September 1993. The debut 25 years ago was the first highlight in a unique success story. For this high-performance saloon from model series 202 was the first joint project to be created by Mercedes-Benz together with the engineering company AMG founded in 1967. The Mercedes-AMG model range, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG since 2005, is now more comprehensive than ever before.
The Mercedes-Benz Classic Calendar 2019 opens up a new dimension for its lavish photos with an augmented reality app providing access to digital content, such as films or social media posts, to bring the images to life. They tell the story behind the photos in the calendar using the possibilities of modern media. The Mercedes-Benz Classic Calendar 2019 is entitled “#MBclassic – A new Classic experience”. Costing 29.90 euros, it is now available for advance ordering online from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Store. The calendar will also be on sale at the Mercedes-Benz Museum shop from October 2018.
